What is hpl panel?

hpl panel, also known as refractory panel, is a thermosetting resin impregnated paper high pressure laminate, abbreviated as HPL, which is a fire resistant building material for surface decoration, with rich surface colours, patterns and special physical properties, widely used in interior decoration, furniture, kitchen cabinets, laboratory countertops, facades and other areas.

hpl panels are generally made up of three layers: surface paper, colour paper and base paper (multi-layer kraft paper). The surface paper and the colour paper are impregnated with melamine resin to give the refractory panel physical properties such as abrasion and scratch resistance. The multi-layer kraft paper gives the refractory panel a good impact resistance and flexibility.

Types of hpl panel

1、Mineral wool board and glass wool board: mainly mineral wool and glass wool are used as heat insulation materials. The main component of the board is non-combustible and contains crystalline water, which has good fire resistance and can be used as partition walls, ceiling and roofing panels. The board is made from a wide range of raw materials and is easy to produce in a customised manner. In use, it is lighter in weight and can reduce the weight of the building, and it is easy to process, can be sawed and planed, easy to construct, and has good decorative properties, but its resistance to folding is poor. There are many factors affecting the fire resistance of gypsum board, such as composition, type of board, type of keel, thickness of board, presence or absence of filler in the air layer, assembling method, etc. In recent years, new varieties of silica-calcium gypsum fibre board and double-sided paper plaster fireproof board have emerged.

5, calcium silicate fiber board: is lime, silicate and inorganic fiber reinforced materials as the main raw material of the building board, with light weight, high strength and heat insulation, good durability, processing performance and construction performance, etc., mainly used for the production of ceilings, partition walls and as steel columns, steel beams, fire protection materials. But the strength and bending performance of the plate still needs to be improved.
